My favorite event of the summer is the Minnesota State Fair. I am a fair junky. I grew up attending our small county fair, taking various 4-H animals, performing in horse shows, entering baked goods and art project competitions, so I enjoy seeing all those things at the fair. I love seeing the rows of prize fruits and vegetables, visiting the goats and chickens, riding the Big Yellow Slide, people watching and of course, eating fair food.
Below is my photo essay of all the weird, wacky, nostalgic and delicious moments from the fabulous end-of-summer hurrah, known as “The Great Minnesota Get Together.” Next year I promise, I’ll enter something tomato-y into competition. Until then, only 11 more months until the fair!
