It’s beautiful here is Minneapolis this August. Cool clear nights and warm dry days make it a pleasure to sit outside and enjoy the late summer. There have been lots of posts lately on the web about homemade soda syrup, so I thought this might be the perfect time to try some. And what a pleasant surprise! This stuff is fantastic.
I got the idea from a Punk Domestic post from Us Two & Our Motley Crew who has a series of beautiful ingredient and process photos on their site. They adapted the recipe for cola syrup from this NY Times article. It’s lovely how these recipes hop around in social media, being shared, made, changed and passed on. Below is my version. Note the tiny vanilla seeds floating in the soda. Yum.
